remember when

This project felt so long but so short at the same time...
These past few months were great despite this whole virus epidemic, and it shows how it's possible to overcome obstacles that can be out of your own control to achieve an end goal, and that end goal for me was finishing this project. Coming from two actors to none, and myself having to film in it by myself isn't easy. Along with what I've done, a lot of it comes down to what I've learned through this project. It's amazing how time management is important even for something as simple this, and when things don't go according to plan, you have to improvise subsequently. The research needed was also a key factor in this project. Without it, I wouldn't have known how to apply filters or sync audio correctly in my editing software. Being prepared and thinking your idea before actually applying it seems common knowledge but procrastination and stupidity definitely played a role in obstructing that. Overall, I'd say this journey was a success (for the most part.)

editing

I finally finished filming and now it's time for editing!
I spent the whole day yesterday editing but iMovie really isn't cutting it. Along with a lack of features compared to other programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut, it difficult it work on, so I'm going to re-edit my opening on Final Cut Pro. It's a real pain to sync up the same audio together. It's taking me a long time to figure out when to precisely put it in so the alarm won't sound off. Otherwise, it's a breeze to edit in Final Cut. However, I do have the problem of going over the additional time slot. I'm pretty sure my limit is 2 minutes and 15 seconds but I'm at 2 minutes and 30. Looks like I'm going to have to make some serious cuts.

sounds

Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to films, videos, and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality.
So, I'm going to be incorporating sounds produced after filming using foley techniques. (and non-foley techniques)
1) Using my socket wrench to make a clicking noise to make the impression that I am picking the lock to the car when I try to break into it
2) (Not Foley) Using the panic mode on my key to set off its alarm
3) (Not Foley) Using car engine noises for when he fails to start up the car
4) Driving over gravel to emphasize the car is driving out

(Also I had gone out to film (Sunday) tonight but it started pouring. I'm waking up 6am tomorrow morning to finish my remaining scenes)

filming day 2

Breaking in with a socket wrench
The second day of filming happened last night but it's not what I had hoped for. Here's what happened. We got some of my shots but I wasn't liking how most of them came out, but I got the idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. I ended up filming nine or so shots but it seems like I'm going to scrap them.

Shot 9 (Locking the door with a Rope)
After I finished filming Dario's opening, it was already getting too late for him since we took an hour to drive back and forth to where he wanted to film. By the time we got back, I was too rushed and I didn't want to be a burden so I had decided to film tomorrow since I wanted to take my time with it.

best day ever

Translation
:)
I finally got the email I've been waiting for so long..
After weeks of waiting, I thought this day would never come but I actually checked my gmail. I got the email a while ago but since I never check my inbox, I didn't see it. I'm actually surprised I got a response but I got the right to use a song from the movie, "Bumer 2." This was my reach song since the movie came out over 10 years ago. So now the only thing I have to worry about is filming and editing. I should be done filming on Saturday hopefully.
